The British Beer and Pub Association has written to Prime Minister Boris Johnson calling on his government to take urgent action to prevent mass job losses and permanent pub closures.
The letter, seen by our Boris and dated Monday, follows the government issuing new advice for people to avoid pubs, clubs in a bid to halt the spread of coronavirus.
Instead Boris has announced that all fighting is to be banned from Thursday night and any local shin kicking contests are to be postponed to a later date.
Elderly people, and those with conditions rendering them vulnerable to the virus are advised to change their drinking habits and go to their local Wetherspoons.
Scientists believe that there must be a cure for Coronavirus hidden in a Spooners armpit somewhere and are currently setting up a task force to take samples in a bid to come up with a vaccine.
